Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that “He who leaves the body and departs (from this world) with his mind fixed on Me during the last moments (of his life) attains to Me without doubt”

Srimad Bhagavadgita 8:5

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that “He who leaves the body and departs (from this world) with his mind fixed on Me during the last moments (of his life) attains to Me without doubt”

But he alone who is filled with God consiouness at all times can call up the memory of God during his last moments. It is only such thoughts as we have indulged in for the whole of our life that we ordinarily recall during our last moments. That is why Krishna advices Arjuna as follows:

Srimad Bhagavadgita 8:7

“O Arjuna, therefore at all times remember Me only and fight.

With mind and intellect fixed (or absorbed) in Me, thou shalt doubtessly come to Me alone.”
