Just as the dawn dispels the darkness and rids one of fear from thieves and ghosts, the chanting of the Divine Names also rids one of all sins and bestows liberation as soon as it is chanted.  But that is not the intention of chanting the Divine names.

Once the sun is up and shining in all its glory, it serves as the very base/support for all life and its sustenance. Similarly, the intention of continued chanting of the Divine names is to take one to the state of total selfless, unconditional LOVE.
