To collect people living around one’s home and help them chant the Lord’s Name is verily service to the Guru. Or to follow the special instruction given to him/her by the Guru is verily ‘service’ to the Guru.

Happy Rama Navami !

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrugna – all the three served Lord Rama. Lakshmana lived along side Rama and served him. Lakshmana built hut for him, prepared his bed, collected fuel for cooking food, guarded as Rama and Sita were together, assisted Rama in killing the asuras, etc. How did Bharata serve Rama. Was he not physically away from Rama? Bharata carried out the instructions of Rama. Rama desired Bharata to rule the kingdom in His absence. Did not Bharata possess the ability to live in the forest and serve Rama? Yet, Bharata sacrificed his life for the sake of Rama. He lived far away from Rama whom he loved and revered and ruled the kingdom as advised by Rama. And, Shatrugna by serving Bharata with love and faith served Rama!

If all were to live in the physical presence of the Guru who is to do His work? Sacrificing your very life for the sake of carrying out His work is indeed a great service ('kainkarya'). To read the Bhagavatam, to perform Nãmasankirtan, to collect people living around one's home and help them chant the Lord's Name is verily service to the Guru. Or to follow the special instruction given to him/her by the Guru is verily 'service' to the Guru.

The service that God has entrusted upon your shoulders is to lend them to me!

If it is even possible for you to make one other person chant the Mahamantra, that is the greatest service you can do to Him

To have the opportunity to serve a Mahatma in some way is indeed the rarest of the rarest.

So if you keep chanting Mahamantra, actually the Guru reaches you!

Take the Name constantly. That is the best Seva.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

When there is true love, even adversities appear to be blessings

When there is true love, even adversities appear to be blessings

You should not only accept from the bottom of your heart the situation that the Lord keeps you in but also be grateful to Him for that because it is verily the Lord's blessing!

One thing can be said for certain. God is perfect. An imperfection cannot come from the perfect.

God is very compassionate because everything in our life is predetermined. No effort need be taken by us in that direction. All we have to do is to turn and fix our mind on Him!

Words of wisdom by a great Gnani and a true bhaktha

It is not ours to question why, but to submit to the Divine will, and pass through all experiences that fall to our lot, with a free and cheerful heart.

It is a mistake to think that by mere change of situation or activity we can attain to peace

Surrender to his feet and pray for peace, he shall deliver you from this pain

It is a universal experience that every calamity brings the sensible man down on his knees

Glory unto thee….Oh! Mind! I salute thy unmatched courage!

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

This being the case, no wonder a devotee who has bound the Lord by the cords of love never misses Him from his heart.

The Lord who is all powerful and all knowing becomes bound by his devotee who chants His Names.

Let us not fret over situations that God has given us… It is a mistake to think that by mere change of situation or activity we can attain to peace

Nama Article 26th March 2012

EPISTLES OF SWAMI RAMDAS

When the Name begins to work in the mind, automatically peace settles upon it. All actions proceeding from this calm state of mind become naturally pure and therefore beneficent. …A constant watch upon our actions is still necessary, lest we might do such acts as would throw us into forgetfulness of God. …Let us not fret over situations that God has given us… It is a mistake to think that by mere change of situation or activity we can attain to peace

I request to you please tell me your valuable advice for finding the peace in my life.

What I experience now is the inner peace that I have been looking for

His very image filled with divine wisdom, power, love, joy and peace

Divine Name will not only shield you from all harm, but also grant you the power of endurance and peace.

His sweet Name on your lips, you may be sure, your life will flow like a rippling river singing the song of eternal love and joy.

Complete resignation to the will of God in every situation of life means enjoyment of peace, joy and contentment from moment to moment.

The man of prayer will be at peace with himself, and with the whole world

I have not the slightest doubt that prayer is an unfailing means of cleansing the heart of passions. But it must be combined with the utmost humility.

Mind, due to is very nature is ever-vacillating. if you sincerely pray to get the obstacle removed, your prayer shall be fulfilled.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

The one who chants the Divine Name “Ha ri” consisting of two letters will surely be victorious

Nama Article 25th March 2012

Narada Samhita

जितं तेन जितं तेन जितं तेनेति निश्चितम् ।

जिह्वाग्रे वर्तते यस्य हरिरित्यक्षरद्वयम् ॥

The one who chants the Divine Name “Ha ri” consisting of two letters will surely be victorious

What is the way to success?

Just by remembering the Divine Name daily at any time what we will get?

Four Vedas = Divine Name "Hari"

One does not succeed so long as one has these three: shame, hatred, and fear

Staunch faith in God and chanting His Eternal Name together is the secret of success.

Only certain course for success declared unanimously by all the sages of yore is the hearing, chanting, and meditation of the Glory of the Divine Name of Sri Hari

We should resort to Ramanama, even if the mind is not steady. If we keep trying, success is bound to come.

Catch hold of His sweet Name firmly and your success is certain

Through life and death, make Krishna the Life of your life, and thus score a victory over the world.

Namajapa should be continued faithfully and in the confidence that ultimate victory is bound to follow.

Victory at the journey's end.

If I say "Do – Rama, Rama" to one who has not struggled through books like you, he will do it and stick to it

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

Nama Kirtan, whether done knowingly or unknowingly, certainly has to give its effect

Nama Chanted unknowingly also wipes out all of one's sins

Those who Chant the Name anyhow, reach the Supreme with great honour and without effort.

There are also no restrictions regarding place, time, land or any other factors for the Divine name

The Name of God, chanted correctly or incorrectly, knowingly or unknowingly, carefully, is sure to give the desired result.

Whats the result of the Divine Name uttered helplessly?

Nama Chanted unknowingly also wipes out all of one's sins

A fallen, slipped or pained person is redeemed from all sins, if he cries out loudly his surrender unto Lord Hari even while sneezing

Namakirtan is definitely the easiest way. But our illusion (maya) would not allow us to do even that. Hence we should not get caught in the illusion.
