Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has been described as a mahan. The Gaudiya vaishnavas believe that He is an avatar of Krishna Himself. Do you also believe in the same?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

We believe so too.

——-

With Divine blessing of HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, on occasion of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanthi on 19th March 2011, Akanda Mahamantrakirtan (incessant chanting of Mahamantra) was organized in all Namadwaars in Tamilnadu from 6 am to 6 pm along with Nagarakirtan. Apart from this Akanda Mahamantrakirtan, Nagarakirtan and special satsangs were organized across hundreds of  GOD satsangs around the globe.

Logic had made my heart as hard as iron. I had no devotion. Thou hast melted me. Salutations unto thee, O powerful Lord!

Swami Papa Ramdas

Japa and Smaran must go together. Japa makes the mind steady and prepares it for Dhyana. Through Dhyana we reach the state of Samadhi where we realise our identity with God. In Samadhi, the mind is perfectly still, without any Samkalpas or Vikalpas without any desires, or ideas. We realise that we are not the physical body, the senses, the mind or the intellect, but that we are the immortal, absolute Truth itself. Having gained this experience, we advance to the state of Parabhakti about which Ramdas has talked to you often.

Sarvabhauma expounded the following verse in nine different ways. Chaitanya showed his skill in Sanskrit and expounded the same verse in sixty-one different ways. Sarvabhauma was struck with wonder. The verse runs:

"Atmaramascha Munayo Nigranthapi Urukrame,

Kurvanty Ahaitukim Bhaktim Ithambhuta Guno Hari"

"Hari's qualities are so charming that the Atmarama Yogis–though they are Nigranthas (i.e., outside the influence of illusion or Shastraic injunctions)–become contemplative and are attracted by the same into adoring the Urukrama Hari with selfless love and devotion."

Gauranga was a great scholar and yet he was humble. He would never indulge in such talks as were calculated to wound the feelings of others. He would never feel a sense of elation if he got victory in his debates. Gauranga eventually converted Sarvabhauma to his faith and criticised his arguments one by one. Gauranga embraced Sarvabhauma. Sarvabhauma fainted in an ecstasy of divine joy. He then rose and danced. He prostrated at the feet of Gauranga and said, "Oh venerable Master! Logic had made my heart as hard as iron. I had no devotion. Thou hast melted me. Salutations unto thee, O powerful Lord!".

You should attain such a stage that it is impossible for you to live without Him

Today Feb 28th is Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanthi

——————————————————————————————-

This is celebrated as 'Holi' Day.

After Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji's descent on earth on this day, it is also a 'holy' day.

His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

O Hari! O Friend of the helpless! You are the only ocean of mercy! Because I have not met You, my inauspicious days and nights have become unbearable. I do not know how I shall pass the time.

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to cry at end of each day that a day has passed with out having the vision of God.

Meerabai suffered without Krishna the way a fish suffers when taken out of water.

I want to see God now! I want to attain realization! Is it possible?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Yes it is possible. You should do the following things:

1. Forsake all worldly desires

2. Always think about the Lord

3. Develop divine love towards Him above anything else

4. Believe that He is always with you and aware of all your actions

You should attain such a stage that it is impossible for you to live without Him.

God is an ocean of compassion and mercy and love. Love that is shown to Him is reciprocated back multiple fold. If you take a step towards Him, He takes ten steps towards you.

Let God bless you with His darshan soon!

Sikshashtaka – Lord Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

Nama article 13th December 2007

Although Lord Chaitanya was widely renowned as a scholar in his youth, he left only eight verses, called Sikshashtaka. These eight verses clearly reveal his mission and precepts. These supremely valuable prayers are translated herein.

   1. Glory to the Sri Krishna Sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years and extinguishes the fire of conditional life, of repeated birth and death. This Sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge. It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to fully taste the nectar for which we are always anxious.

   2. O my Lord, Your holy name alone can render all benediction to living beings, and thus You have hundreds and millions of names like Krishna and Govinda. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not even hard and fast rules for chanting these names. O my Lord, out of kindness You enable us to easily approach You by Your holy names, but I am so unfortunate that I have no attraction for them.

   3. One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige and should be ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly.

   4. O Almighty Lord, I have no desire to accumulate wealth, nor do I desire beautiful women, nor do I want any number of followers. I only want Your causeless devotional service birth after birth.

   5. O son of Maharaja Nanda (Krishna), I am Your eternal servitor, yet somehow or other I have fallen into the ocean of birth and death. Please pick me up from this ocean of death and place me as one of the atoms at Your lotus feet.

   6. O my Lord, when will my eyes be decorated with tears of love flowing constantly when I chant Your holy name? When will my voice choke up, and when will the hairs of my body stand on end at the recitation of Your name?

   7. O Govinda! Feeling Your separation, I am considering a moment to be like twelve years or more. Tears are flowing from my eyes like torrents of rain, and I am feeling all vacant in the world in Your absence.

   8. I know no one but Krishna as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord unconditionally.
